Today is the 8th birthday anniversary of my little Kuheli, my first daughter who was supposed to be adopted by me. She was born April 22nd, 2000, on Earth Day. How fitting that she was half a world away from me.
She died of pneumonia on July 5th 2000. I placed her photo where we could all see her. Lakshmi and Priya weren't here when she died, but Ravi remembers giving me lots of tissues and telling me it will be alright. What a sweet boy Ravi is!
It wasn't long after Kuheli died that I got a referral for Lakshmi, and she and Priya are here with us because of that.
Happy Birthday baby Kuheli, your mommy misses you!
