Yard Work, Garage Sale, Plumbing, New House

Yard Work:
Today it was beautiful. Ravi and Lakshmi helped me while I trimmed the nandina bushes, and cleared out the front garden beds. Then we raked up the remaining leaves and swept. It looked SO GOOD. I paid them each $1.00. Hey, that's big at our house! Ravi wanted to go to the store and spend his RIGHT AWAY (!) and Lakshmi wanted to save hers and do more work. Good girl Lakshmi. Priya was with my friend (officially respite care, but they are having lots of fun!).

When we were finishedwith the yard we stood back to see what it looked like and I was so amazed how much of a difference it made. Wow.

Garage Sale Items:
Through out the day, while we were working (and Lakshmi occassionally riding her bike) the people who purchased my items from the online garage sale came by to pick up their items and pay. I ended up with almost $100 in cash today, and that was a GREAT feeling. Tomarrow, the rest of the items will go, and I will have close to $100 tomarrow too, making it almost $200. I plan to replace my digital camera tomarrow. I don't know how much that cool camera with the printer is, but I plan to check it out this weekend. I don't want to load my computer up with photo's unless I want them. I spent alot of time last weekend deleting photos that were not worthy of using up mb to store. Still have HUNDREDS of beautiful photos of the kids left. I should get another computer just for storing photos.

Plumbing:
Well, when it rains, it pours...or so they say in the plumbing business! In less than 15 days, every plumbing thing in our home broke! This is a sign I tell you. We gotta get out of here. Anyway, a friends kind husband came over last night to work on the bathroom sink, and will come in the morning to reset the toilet, and find out why the tank doesn't fill

I have been manually POURING water into the tank to flush it, so we have been..selectively flushing...! Okay, I know... TMI! : 0

And, the kitchen pipes sprung a leak and now I have to replace ALL of the wood under the sink before we put the house on the market. Geez!

New House:

Still waiting to see if the owner of our "new house" comes down a bit before we put an offer on it. We are hoping it comes down about $15,000. Then we will put an offer on it. We of course will offer less!

The kids and I drove over to the "new house" to peer through the windows today, and it gave me more energy to clean out our house of unnecessary stuff! I want our new space to be beautiful, functional and simple.

We won't even need the tv stand when we move. The house has built in's in the family room, and I plan to make doors for it so we can completely close the tv out of sight. I think I will be able to put the piano in the living room. I have to look over at Pottery Barn Outlet store to see if I can find a nice sectional, and a rug. I don't think I need anything else in that room. I hope I grow old listening to my kids sharing their music with me, in that room.

The funny thing is, I don't know what I will do with all of this space. With 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, seperate living room, dining room and kitchen (and even a laundry room!) I bet the house will echo a bit. The fourth bedroom will combo as a guest room, with most of two walls devoted to our book collections. I will keep my massage business sheets, oils ect in there too. Also, once Priya is finished with the crib, I will put that in the guest room.

I love dreaming about this. It will be my home for the next 20 years without a doubt. Perhaps after that I will move to the country!
