Looking better

Finally our house is starting to really breathe. I think the play room is the worst still, but by tomarrow, things should be much better.
I joined our local online garage sale list, and sold so much stuff today. All pending pickup of course. Should everything sell, I should have $200 in cash. By Saturday, I should have at least $75 of that $200. The list is incredible. I haven't found anything I wanted, except a clothes line, but that went quick, so I didn't get it.

I did get an offer for a toddler bed with fairly new crib mattress, and I am hoping to be able to move Priya out of her crib after our move, and into this toddler bed. It will be months before she will get out of the crib, and she may actually celebrate her 5th birthday while still sleeping in the crib. I guess it makes her happy.

When I get the toddler bed, I will go to Pottery Barn for Kids and pick up the sheets to her crib comforter, and she will have a nice looking bed. One more crib sheet won't kill me. When she moves to her big bed, I will get the twin sheets to go with her comforter. She has a tiny pillow and case that goes with it, and her bed will be very cute. The colors are sunny yellow, lavender, pink and white. Lots of flowers, and a bumble bee or two.

The girls saw a lamp at Target that is on sale, that they want for their new room. I was just so excited to see that they are talking about what will GO in their new room. They both still claim they will be sleeping with me however! Curtains, comforters, sheets, a bedside table, two new twin beds and a lamp. That's what they are wanting. We may start out with alot LESS than that. But it will be fun looking for their things.

Ravi will be getting a football room! New bunk beds, a red wool rug, and his dresser will get repaired.
I made him a football blanket for Christmas, and he loved it so much, he wanted his room decorated like it.

Update on Ravi's apology, and more house clearing.

Apology Update:

Ravi went to Taco Bell on Tuesday night and gave the letter to the manager. She opened it, read it, and said, "this is from you?" He felt terrible, and I think the message got through to him.

She told him that he could play in the playroom again when I said it was okay. I made him sit out one more time, just for good measure while the girls played. I don't think he will do this again.

House For Sale Update:

The house is looking so much better on the inside. I did a check through the front porch window just to see how it would look on first impression if a potential buyer was standing there waiting to come in.

The living room looked GREAT. It was warm looking, clean, and clutter free. FINALLY. This is the first impression of the house, as it is where our front door is.

Today I am taking a load to Goodwill, and it feels good to get rid of the stuff, and also clear our living space out so that we can enjoy it for the last few weeks of living here.

Highly religious child *if you are religiously sensitive, don't read*

Oh my...I thought this was hilarious. I was going about my usual mundane chores and clearing out the house, and suddenly my ears tuned in to what Lakshmi was singing...

"America, America, the lord has come, Baruch atah adonai, jai Ganesha!".

Okay, from this, you can learn a few things about our family.
#1. we watch (with distrust) any announcment or debate that George W. Bush does on TV, and listen in the car on NPR. I am sure this is where "America, America, the lord has come" CAME from. (lol)

#2. we have Jewish friends and sometimes we are privy to their dinner prayers or songs. "Baruch atah adonai" came from this source.

#3. Jai Ganesha? Well, of course from our family, from temple, and from so many sources we know about.

I thought this was really, really funny. I think the first one is the funniest! "W" truely thinks the LORD HAS COME in this, his LAST term!
