Speaking of my journal

So when I was reading my "lost" journal, I found it very interesting that we had picked out baby names for Ravi, who we thought would be a girl.

If he had been a girl, he would have been named either Priya, Supriya, Geeta, Marissa, Nicole, Prisada, Annise or Rehka. We would have given middle names of Ann, Elizabeth or Rose.

The boy names we had choosen were Ravi, Rajiv, Raja (the name of our dog now!!!) Sanjiv or Caelin (which is Scottish).

Further in the journal was an adoption announcement for a little girl named Priya Elizabeth, born March 1999, arrived July 15th 1999. This was obviously a fictitious daughter, who we were hoping for. The funny thing is that I had forgotten all about that name when we adopted Lakshmi, and then our beloved Priya arrived into our lives by surprise. We named her Priya Sarojini Elizabeth. Lakshmi's name is Lakshmi Selena Rose. Both of my girls got family names, which I had planned way back in 1999.

Seems that they were indeed intended for our family. Gives me the shivers!

A horrible discovery!

I remember when Ravi was between ages 2 and 3, we used alot of sippy cups. We took them on car trips, took them to my parents and of course, we used them at home. I was always finding one under the back seat in the car, or in a diaper bag, or under a bed. Those were some stinky sippy cups! No of them would be lost in any shorter period than 3 months! : )

Well, along the same lines...I have been clearing out paperwork, toys, babyclothing and so much more today. The office is looking really good. I really never thought that I would come across a 4 year old diaper! That is exactly what happened. There was a time when Lakshmi was little, that I used disposibles for a short time because I was overwhelmed with breastfeeding, cloth diapering and having a 4 year old on top of that, who I was homeschooling. The diaper was really tiny and wrapped up in a triangle and shut thankfully. I don't know what is in it, but it sure stinks! Somehow I missed throwing that away 4 years ago...it was a gruesome discovery!

And I found something else...my journal from when we first bought our house, with details about the deal with the owner, repairs that had to be made, and a wish for children. I kept reading and I was suprised that I had written all about our first adoption, and how we got the news about Ravi. Even the arrival of Lakshmi was in there, and the news that Priya would be coming soon. So I took a moment to update my journal with all the news about our family, good and bad, happy and sad. I can't wait to FIND it again in another year to see what happens in our lives!
