OBAMA vs McCAIN

I've been enjoying the Democratic Convention this week, including Senator Clinton's speech, Senator Kennedy's speech and most especially Obama's speech. I really don't know that I'm happy with Obama's wife. She played down her words, her thoughts and so much more. Perhaps because she over did herself early in the race. I'm not thrilled about Biden being Obama's running mate, but it won't sway me from voting for Obama.

I did see this morning that McCain has chosen nearly unknown Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin, first woman republican vice-president elect, for his running mate. On first thought I felt that it was wonderful that he has chosen a female running mate, but on second thought it occurred to me that he is plain running scared. He knew if he didn't choose a woman or African American vp elect, that he would have no dibs at the presidency.

Nevertheless, this presidents election will be one of the most entertaining, exciting and historic elections of all time. I'm very happy to see things turn out the way they have. For once, American has a clear choice! And I believe Americans will choose Obama and Biden.

My children listen to me talking with my friends about the presidential election, and they are starting to follow things very closely. Priya was so upset when it was clear Clinton was not going to be our next president. I don't blame her, as I was too, but the latest thing on the kids minds is that Obama was not born in the continental US. Ravi was surprised he was could run for presidency, because he wasn't a US citizen. I assured Ravi that if anyone is born in Hawaai, they can run for presidency. LOL

For the first time, there is another historical event. We have a president elect from Hawaai, and a vice-president elect from Alaska! Both states not part of the continental US.

With all the excitement about the presidential race, I had to share this funny photo.
