Garden Fresh and Feeling Proud

Straight from the garden today! Summer squash, red juicy tomatos, onion and garlic....what a feast!

I wish I could say it was MY garden, but it is the garden that Lakshmi and Priya's babysitter grows. They also get to eat fresh veggies every day at lunch time! Sweet potato, squash, beans, peas, lettuce, spinach, sweet peppers and so much more! What a blessing for the girls, and for all of us. I served home made mashed potatoes tonight with the above veggies (we have tons of squash and garlic left!)

Ravi is having a great time this week. He is involved in the G/T camp until Friday. G/T is gifted and talented. On Tuesday, I dropped Ravi off, and he has been having a ball. He is taking a class called Edible Science. Today they made icecream by using the old fashioned way. They really thought it was a new trick! Something new every day. On the first day, I went to pick Ravi and and a teacher came out and just raved about Ravi. She said, "Oh, what a wonderful son you have!!!" I agree!

Ravi got his honor roll certificate last week at a special program, and also got an award certificate that said, "Award, for being so nice to everyone and being so helpful"! I feel so proud of Ravi. He just goes out there in the world and spreads around his love and helpfulness. This is, in my opinion, what all boys should be taught to do. (girls are already doing this mostly). The kids in his class call him the smartest kid in the world, and the fastest runner in the third grade! Ravi came home with a pendent that he got at school for honor roll, and he promptly hit Priya in the head and left a knot on her scalp. We are still working on being nice with our family!

My mother always told me that charity starts at home, and I believe that in every sense. I hope Ravi learns to believe that one day!

I was very busy today doing chair massage, and altho I had very little time to even go to the restroom, I was glad for the money!

Those veggies look SOOOOO delicious. There's nothing like veggies ripened on the vine freshly picked. Kids usually have no problem eating them when they're fresh and prepared right. Ravi sounds like he's having a great time!
