I hit the jackpot recently on Freecycle when I posted that I was looking for a few canning jars. I got an email from one member who said she had some jars, plus the canning books that her mother used to use to put up veggies and fruit from their garden. So in a few hours, Priya and I will head over to the womans house and pick up more than 100 (that's right, One Hundred) canning jars to bring home and find room for.
I never thought that I could store 100 jars of food, so it never occurred to me that I would be able to find 100 jars! Sharon Astyk would be proud of me. LOL!
Looks like I'll be growing a yard full of tomatoes this summer, for canning!

Hi! Found your blog via Mothering . . . it's so funny. I scored 36 food storage jars from Freecycle. Such a great resource! I have to purchase lids for them though . . . do you have any good sources for buying lids in bulk?
