Winter Solstice
It's a winter solstice
dark without light.
And we bring it in gently,
in the middle of the night.
It's a winter solstice a ringing
as we gather round the fire.
It's a winter solstice a singing
as with listen with harp and lyre.
It's a winter solstice
dark without light.
And we bring it in gently,
in the middle of the night.
It's a winter solstice that's sacred
sharing chalice and the wine.
It's a winter solstice, no hatred.
inward now, we take our time.
It's a winter solstice,
dark without light.
And we bring it in gently,
in the middle of the night.
It's a winter solstice the coldest,
fire flickers in our eyes.
It's a winter solstice the longest,
longest night, the year, our lives.
Winter Solstice is on December 21st this year, and I wish you a very happy and joyous
time. It is the celebration of the longest night of the year. For some, it's an inward time, to look over the past year, and for others, it's the beginning of planning for the new year. Seed catalogues, recipes, life changes are amoung some of the plans.
The kids and I have lit our advent wreath each weekend, reminding ourselves how important the sunlight is and being thankful for the sun.
I see careful planning for the change in our economy, putting food away so I will have reserves, creating more local connections, making new friends, and planning for the increase in income.
What do you see in your future?
Happy Solstice and Happy Holidays,
Jyotsna
