Priya is worsening

Priya was dx with RAD when she came home in 2001. RAD is Reactive Attachment Disorder.

At this time, after a wonderful time with Priya, with her behaviour being so nice, she has suddenly reverted to the earlier behaviour. Priya can't control herself, and she inflicts her behaviour on me mostly. It breaks my heart to have to see her this way. She has so much potential for love, happiness, good behavior and yet, she can't do it.

The closest attachment therapist is 150 miles away, which is a 3 hour drive in my slow Volvo wagon. The problem is that I can't drive my car that far until I have a new car, and so far the tax checks haven't arrived.

I have actually considered moving to the same town where the therapist is, because her help would make such a difference in our lives. Priya is about to start Kindergarten in the fall, and I am affriad for her to attend until her behaviour is better. She is at risk for abuse and for falling through the cracks, even tho she is an incredibly smart child.

The insurance won't pay for therapy unless the therapist has a Ph.d. However, I have never met or heard of a therapist that has more than a Masters.
