Me with my dad, when I was about 18 years old....A LONG TIME AGO! My horse (Sugar) didn't like small children, and it took me 1 year of feeding her sugar, so she would come to me. Finally I lead trained, and eventually one cold January morning, I wanted to ride her. My dad and brother with all their cocky masculine energy, thought they would be the first one to ride her. But she had another thing in mind. Somewhere, my mom has photo's of Sugar riding off into the sunset with my brother, and the saddle hanging under her! LOL. My dad never got her close to him. It was me, who had been petting her, brushing her and feeding her, who was able to finally climb on top. She loved me, and I loved her too. What a good horse she was. She died two years ago, on Christmas day. What a sad day it was to drive up to my parents farm, honk my horn and not see Sugar running up to the fence for her treat of raw carrots and sugar cubes.
